Press Release
NEW YORK, NY: Tabbed, the Bluetooth payment and guest intelligence platform for full-service restaurants, announced today that Cipriani Dolci at Grand Central Terminal is live on its platform. The launch marks the first time in nearly a century of operation that Cipriani has let guests settle the bill from their own phones. Cipriani is the hospitality house Giuseppe Cipriani founded with Harry’s Bar in Venice in 1931, where both the Bellini and beef carpaccio were created. The launch follows Tabbed’s partnership with Toast, announced on August 10, 2026, and coincides with Cipriani Dolci’s relaunch at the terminal.
Cipriani selected Tabbed because the platform upholds the standard of hospitality on which the Cipriani brand was built. Fine dining operators have historically stayed away from clunky payment tools such as QR codes, which pull guests onto their phones at the table, interrupt the rhythm of service, and diminish the experience that venues of this caliber work to protect. Tabbed operates in the background over Bluetooth, which allows guests to settle their bill in seconds without waiting on the check, while the service team remains fully in control of the table. That distinction has opened a category of restaurant that payment technology had previously been unable to serve.
Palladino’s, one of the city’s leading steakhouses, adopted Tabbed at its Grand Central Terminal location for the same reasons and served as Cipriani’s reference account during its evaluation.
Operating inside Grand Central Terminal means serving thousands of guests daily, a volume at which knowing each guest personally depends on more information than any service team can carry from memory. Tabbed provides that information by delivering real-time guest intelligence directly onto the POS check, so that servers can recognize and serve every guest as a regular, including on a first visit. When a guest pays, their profile surfaces immediately for the service team, including visit history, preferences, and spend.
At Cipriani, this insight enables servers to deliver bespoke, white-glove service tailored to each guest’s individual preferences. At Palladino’s, where many guests have a train to catch, Tabbed returns the minutes usually lost waiting on the check and converts a high volume of fast-moving commuter traffic into a recognized and loyal customer base, giving operators full visibility into visit frequency, average spend, and lifetime guest value.
Across Tabbed venues, checks close an average of 10.4 minutes faster and servers earn 20% higher tips. Through the Toast partnership, Tabbed is listed on the Toast integrations marketplace, which makes it available to more than 170,000 Toast restaurants.
